Tel un exercice topographique, cette phrase photographique rend compte d’une réflexion sur la délimitation de la forme et du territoire, sur notre rapport au géologique, mais également sur l’idée de transformation et de progrès. Le progrès comme construction d’une conscience d’être au monde, une succession d’étapes, une infinité de mouvements partiels, d’oscillations. Rien de rectiligne dans nos tentatives d’équilibre, la terre tremble.

Photographs in this series, are like a topographical exercise, on delimitation of territory. This process can be seen as the creation of consciousness through a succession of stages, with an endless number of partial movements and fluctuations, transformations and invariants. There are no straight lines in our attempt to find balance, we ascend, freeze and fall. Geological images from Chile and Perù, taken from my iconographic archive, are combined intuitively with my own pictures, in an attempt to build connections and reveal a sense of mystery. The objects are frozen in their neutrality. These are, for the most part, simple items, essential signs of construction devices or measuring tools. I focus on the fragility, minimalism and simplicity of the photographed object, whether it is real or taken from archives, natural or artificial.
